In making for the August firing, a couple of newish ideas emerged:

The “Rabbit Vases” are really only enlargements of an idea I’ve been revisiting for several years. These run 18″ to 22″ high.  The earlier explorations produced much smaller vases, 6″ to 12″ high.  The tall “ears” are unsupported and I expected some problems in firing, but all went well.

The “Buttress Bowls” are really a combination of a two part bowl with the tall narrow foot plus buttresses that I’ve been exploring for the last couple of years.  The taller pedestal plus the buttresses do some good things – giving the basic slab bowl idea a three dimensional presence that the simpler bowls lacked.  The dimensions are about 16″ wide and from 10″ to 14″ high.
